About our smart film
Smart film is transforming the way we experience space, light, and privacy. With the ability to instantly switch between transparent and opaque states, this innovative material integrates seamlessly into modern architecture. Whether applied to office partitions, residential windows, hotel bathrooms, or medical facilities, smart film enhances both functionality and aesthetics.
At Velitech, we don’t just follow industry standards—we redefine them. Our smart film lineup, including PDLC, EPC, and DLC technologies, is engineered with performance, reliability, and real-world application in mind. Here’s how our films stand apart.

Velitech PDLC Film — Clarity meets consistency
PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) is the most common, known for its fast switching speed, durability, and excellent privacy performance. When voltage is applied, the liquid crystals align, allowing light to pass through—making the film clear. When powered off, the crystals scatter light, turning the surface opaque.
Our PDLC films feature high optical clarity in the ON state and strong opacity when powered off. What makes Velitech PDLC unique is our proprietary dispersion process, which ensures uniform crystal alignment, resulting in faster switching times, low haze, and greater durability under extended use.
Stable performance even in high-humidity environments
Ultra-clear transparency when ON
Optimized for commercial partitions and privacy glass
Velitech EPC Film — light adaptive, energy saving
Velitech’s EPC films automatically adapt to sunlight levels while allowing manual control when needed. Our EPC films use a hybrid layering structure that responds faster to UV and light intensity changes, helping to reduce glare and cooling costs.
Ideal for facades, skylights, and smart windows in energy-efficient buildings
Self-tinting with environmental light changes
Lower power consumption than traditional switchable films
Velitech DLC Film – Flexible, Scalable, Affordable
DLC (Dye Liquid Crystal) all-solid-state flexible smart film incorporates specially designed dichroic dye molecules into liquid crystal materials. In the absence of an electric field, the long axes of both the liquid crystal molecules and the dichroic dye molecules align parallel to the surface of the ITO film. In this state, light is largely absorbed by the dye-liquid crystal layer, and the film appears dark and opaque.
When an electric field is applied, the liquid crystal and dye molecules rotate in alignment with the field. As their short axes become perpendicular to the film surface, light absorption by the dye is reduced, and the film shifts to a lighter, more transparent state.
